Uses of hollow glass molecular sieves
INDUSTRY NEWS 2024-02-01

Hollow glass molecular sieve is a crystalline aluminosilicate mineral pellet, mainly used for drying air in double-layer glass interlayers.

It can absorb moisture and residual organic matter in the insulating glass at the same time, so that the insulating glass remains

smooth and transparent even at very low temperatures. At the same time, it can fully reduce the strong internal and external

pressure difference that the insulating glass endures due to the huge changes in seasonal and day-night temperature differences,

solve the problem of distortion and breakage caused by the expansion or contraction of the insulating glass, and extend the service

life of the insulating glass.

The specific uses of hollow glass molecular sieves are as follows:

1. Absorb moisture in the insulating glass and play a drying role.

2. Anti-coagulant cream effect.

3. Cleaning effect, adsorbing floating dust in the air (under the action of water), and the amount of powder falling off is very low.

4. Environmental protection, can be recycled, harmless to the environment, can be recycled, processed and reused.

5. Energy-saving effect, used in insulating glass, reasonably coordinated with insulating glass aluminum strips, sealants, etc. to ensure

the energy-saving effect of insulating glass.

When using hollow glass molecular sieves, carefully check whether the sealed bag is damaged. If there is no damage, the sealed bag

can be filled directly. If there is damage, the desiccant cannot be used directly. It needs to be activated at 300°C for 2 hours, sealed and

isolated from air for cooling before use. When filling desiccant, it should be done in a dry, dust-free room. After opening the sealed bag,

molecular sieves are strictly prohibited from being exposed to the air for a long time. After filling the molecular sieve, the spacer frame

should be closed within 45 minutes. After synthesizing the insulating glass, check whether there is air leakage around the insulating glass,

and do not expose it to the sun immediately.
